Lyle Rex Cherepkai, a lifelong Terre Haute resident, passed away at his residence at the age of 69. Lyle was born on Nov. 20, 1942, in Terre Haute, the son of the late William and Sharon (McKee) Cherepkai.
Lyle served our country during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army. Lyle retired from the Wabash Fiber Box Company in 1997. He was an accomplished artist and took great pride in his oil paintings.
He leaves behind his two sons, Lyle Rex Cherepkai and David Lee Cherepkai, both of Terre Haute; sister, Lynda Gildea of Urbana, Ohio; brother, Michael and wife Linda Cherepkai of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by his son, Michael Todd Cherepkai; sister, Sharon Jolene; brothers, Bill and Paul Cherepkai; his sister-in-law, Norma Ruth Cherepkai; and brother-in-law, Jim Gildea.
