Gary Lear Passes On

Gary G. Lear
ROCKVILLE — Gary G. Lear of Rockville and formerly of Clinton died at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born Feb. 13, 1944, in Clinton, to Conrad Walter Lear and Beatrice Newkirk Lear. He was a chemist for International Paper in Terre Haute. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Rice Lear of Rockville; two sisters, Marguerite Lear of Clinton and Mary Rendaci of Clinton; one sister-in-law, Marlene and Dorwin Stevenson of Hillsdale; two nephews, Robert Rendaci and George Sanquenetti; two nieces, Nancy McCracken and Elaine Sanquenetti; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sanquenetti; and a brother, Leon William Lear. He was a member of Jerusalem No. 99 F and AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Order of Eastern Star No. 254 Jerusalem Chapter, and Vermillion County Low Twelve.Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Frist Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Bumgardner officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
