Jim Yeager Passes

jimJames P. Yeager, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2015, at 8:05 p.m. in Springhill Village. He was a retired storeroom supervisor for Wabash Fibre Box (Weston Paper). James was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio to James G. Yeager and Dema M. (Swinger) Yeager.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Eldridge) Yeager, whom he married May 26, 1952; sons, Monte Yeager and wife Carol of Lebanon, and Lonnie Yeager and wife Janet of Glen Rose, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Yeakley, Gregger Yeager, and Nathan Yeager; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy L. Yeager of Streeter, Ill., and Janet S. Bell of Sullivan; and sister-in-law, Martha Gorham of Louisiana. James was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having fought in the Korean War, was a life-member of Lawton-Byrum Post 972 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of American Legion Post 346. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and walking.

 Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, from 5 – 7 p.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, with military honors provided by Lawton-Byrum Post 972 VFW.
